I huvudet p\u00e5 Alfhild Agrell (Inside the head of Alfhild Agrell),<\/em> is a free fantasy about the bakers\u2019 daughter from H\u00e4rn\u00f6sand who became one of the most appreciated playwrights of her time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contemporary with August \nStrindberg and Henrik Ibsen, Agrell was despite the tough competition \nthe most frequently played dramatist at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in \nStockholm in the 1880s. She wrote of topics close\n to her heart, such as women\u2019s liberation and the right to an \nindependent life. Inside the head of Alfhild Agrell<\/em> moves between\n dream and reality, where Alfhild meets both Strindberg and Ibsen as \nwell as Ellen Key and Victoria Benediktsson. Through her\n eyes we see excerpts from her plays and remember the successes, but \nalso her struggles as a female writer who had to face strong criticism \nand opposition. Above all, the play depicts Agrell\u2019s irrepressible passion\n for writing, her longing for success and never giving up on her dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
