Johanna Emanuelsson (born 1986) is a playwright, screenwriter and dramaturg. She studied playwriting at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (2011-2013) and over the past decade has written for film, theatre, and radio theatre; among other works the play \u00c4lvsborgsbron <\/em>(I\u2019m Falling<\/em>) for Unga Dramaten. She has also written plays for the Uppsala City Theatre, \u00d6rebro L\u00e4nsteater, and Riksteatern, among others, and has had a number of works premiere at Teater Tribunalen in Stockholm. She made her debut as a screenwriter in the spring of 2017 with the feature film Dr\u00f6m Vidare <\/em>(Beyond Dreams<\/em>), which won the audience choice prize at the Gothenburg Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2009, Johanna Emanuelsson won Riksteatern\u2019s playwriting competition Ny text! <\/em>(New words!<\/em>) and the international honor New Baltic Drama. In 2011 she was awarded theatre publisher Colombine\u2019s fellowship for debut playwrights, and in 2018 she received the Henning Mankell Scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shimmering Waters<\/em><\/strong>
The class outsiders, Ally and Manisha, have been falsely accused of offing their teacher\u2019s beloved guinea pig. They run away to the forest, where they find themselves in a magical fantasy land. Both have lost their fathers and are full of grief. They don\u2019t have friends and don\u2019t want any, and their interests are rather odd. There beside the mysterious shimmering waters they finally find themselves \u2014 and each other. And the grief they have been carrying begins to lift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
