\u2018Night Journey\u2019 <\/strong>takes its audience aboard a sightseeing boat. We are welcomed by two enigmatic stewards who host us throughout the journey and ensure that our experience is one of calm comfort. We are given blankets and drinks. We listen to a gently spoken text and soundscape. It is beguiling and confidential; it’s soothing yet disturbing. As we travel, our own imagination interacts with the lights of the surrounding city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bj\u00f6rner Torsson’s poetic narrative is a challenging evocation of the mystery and darkness of water. As the journey continues, we are each taken into an inner journey – what does it mean to be alive – what can it mean to be dead. As we journey our own imagination plays with the lights of the surrounding city. As we glide through the dark waters, we conjure our own images and stories, we reflect, we listen, we remember, we imagine… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“THE AMAZING THING that happens is that we are lulled into a mood where everything turns to poetry, and where we are unsure of what is thought out and what is chance. The hum of the boat engine, the mist on the windows, the cracked images of flashing neon signs or passing boats and curious strollers.”<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Reich + Szyber<\/strong>
Our artistic practice ranges from site-specific works in water towers, disused shipyards and lighthouses; staging dance, musical drama and theatre in performing arts institutions, to reading romantic poetry to farm animals in rural areas. The common feature to these performances is a strong visual form as well as an exploratory and cross-genre working methodology.
