International Guest Performance
Since the premiere in 2013, The Garden has lived in many locations and languages. The 2022 performance at the Västerås Biennale was created in collaboration with a cast of local performers and inspired by the history and architecture of the Västmanlands County Museum. Through a series of encounters, both tangible and ineffable, The Garden invites participants to meet the world and themselves with a bit more curiosity, wonder, and care.
Audience members are each given a headset through which they experience an individualized sound score of music, poetry and prompts as they navigate the shifting terrain of the performance.
The Garden is a performance experience for a limited number of participants at a time. While the performance requires audience members to hear audio instructions and mobilize through the 25-30 min performance, we will make all accommodations as needed for audience members.
