I struggle with some demons

They were middle class and tame

I didn’t know I had permission

To murder and to maim

You want it darker

/Leonard Cohen

Anna Vnuk, Lisen Rosell and Sandra Medina welcome you to an evening with things that rest or move quickly in the dark, things which can be difficult to touch but easy to feel. Hearts open. A gap in time. A caressingly beautiful sanctuary.

You want it darker is a performance that breaks loose among the dark nooks and crannies of our interior. At the intersection of guilt/shamelessness. Medina, Vnuk and Rosell allow themselves to be inspired by medieval art and its frenzied approach to butt trumpets, science and torture. It was not easy to distinguish between punishment and entertainment in those days.

Medina, Rosell, and Vnuk have come together to create a new performance, drawing from their extensive experience in both choreography and theatre. Each of these artists has built a diverse career across various artistic disciplines over the years. Medina and Rosell initially collaborated on the project “The Dark Heart and the Sweet Part” in 2020. Now, they join forces with Vnuk, making this the first time this dynamic trio has worked together as a collective, driven by a shared curiosity and passion for their craft.
