The World is full of Married Men
In meticulous 1960s environments the size of dollhouses, a story full of lies, passion and desire for power unfolds. In hotel rooms, nightclubs, film studios and roof terraces in 1960s swinging London, millionaires and fashion models rub shoulders with housewives and Hollywood directors. Life is about making a career, partying and sex. The World Is full of Married Men is a lustful mix of soap opera, satire, pornography and drama where everyone has to work their way up to achieve their goals.
The performance was praised by critics and audiences and played to full houses at Malmö Dockteater in winter 2021, at the Performing Arts Biennale in Västerås in June 2022 and at Malmö Stadsteater in Malmö in autumn 2023.
Malmö Dockteater is the only Puppet theater performing to an adult audience in Sweden. Starting in a basement in Malmö 2015, they have gone their own way and experimented with puppet theater in every possible way -from documentaries to puppet erotica to abstract installations. The expression is often playful, mixing ready-mades and simple homemade constructions with technologically advanced audiovisual formats. They have been awarded numerous times and are often highlighted as one of Sweden’s most innovative theatres.
