Romeo & Juliet / Malmö Stadsteater

Would you be willing to die for someone you love?
It is love at first sight between Romeo and Juliet. Their feelings are intense and passionate, and until they meet, the world has been mostly black and white. But in reality, they should hate each other. Romeo and Juliet’s families are bitter enemies, and together they stand alone against an uncomprehending world—but nothing will stand in the way of their love, not even life itself.
Director Sargun Oshana takes on William Shakespeare’s beloved love story in a new way—using a silent film approach, where the magnificent beauty of the language, combined with music, takes on an especially intoxicating significance.
Note! Parts of the performance are without spoken dialogue and will be subtitled on screen.
