Report from the ITI World Congress

bild bild 1During the recent ITI World Congress in Yerevan, Armenia, delegates from nearly 60 nations participated. The congress contained meetings with the general assembly as well as seminars, committee meetings and performances. The congress also presented the publication ”The World of Theatre” where every nation that is a ITI member presents its current situation for the stage performing arts.

The Swedish delegation took the initiative to a declaration about an international visa policy for artists. Read the declaration in its whole here

ITI World Congress

KarabudaKeynote speaker at the general assembly of the ITI World Congress in Yerevan, Armenia will be Swedish composer Alfons Karabuda. Karabuda will use the UN-report “The Right to freedom of Artistic expression and creativity” as the focal point of his talk, a report he also participated in writing. Karabuda is the chairman of European Composer & Songwriter Alliance, and an expert on artistic rights and freedom of speech.

The Swedish delegation at the Wold Congress will consist of among others, Ann Mari Engel, deputy chairman of ITI Worldwide and chairman of the Actions Committe for Artists Rights, and Ulla Svedin, deputy chairman of Swedish ITI.

The ITI World Congress takes place November 17-22, 2014.

November 2 means the start of Swedstage. Over 50 participants from 30 different nations will for three days experience the very best of Swedish performing arts for children, youth and adults. Day one we will see the beautiful Les Funambules and the epic Mats Ek production of The Emigrants

Welcome to Swedstage 2014!
Swedstage is the Swedish showcase for performing arts and the opportunity to see and experience the very best of Swedish performing arts for children, youth and adults.

Next edition will take place November 2-5 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden.

During the three days in Stockholm, we present selected performances. All the performances are able to tour and available for an international audience. As an extra bonus, we will also present a Pitch of Swedish Playwrights.

The registration fee for Swedstage 2014 is 400 Euro. The fee will cover free entrance to all productions, three nights of accommodation and breakfast, lunch and dinner during your stay.

Gorkij Park 2 Gunilla Heilborn
Gorkij Park 2 is a completely independent sequel to the 80’s thriller Gorky Park, a Hollywood story with the KGB in fur hats, filmed in Helsinki due to the cold war that was going on at the time. This show takes its starting point in the film and deals with forgotten utopias, social realism and a curiosity about what really happened at Fjodors’ party. Had some guests actually glitter around the eyes?

What is marmelade? Is it cherry, pear, figs, mint flavor, upside down, together or inside out? A delicious, sensory performance about meeting, mixing and blending. Mira and Viktor taste and feel in poetic movements and circus actions in an exquisite and visual experience together with the audience. Marmelade looks at the world through body, eye, feeling and taste in a room with fluffy skirts, soft circus and Fellini music.
Marmelade is choreographer Claire Parsons’ first dance production for young children from 2 – 6 years.

Blocks is a performance filled with slap-stick, humour and a touch of seriousness. Blue overalls inspire choreography that freely mixes the concepts of work and play.
