GENERAL PUBLIC is a participatory and immersive performance in the form of a groundbreaking ballet company. As an audience member, you are assigned a place in the company and, together with the others, you prepare a staging of Swan Lake. But before you take the stage, conventions must be discussed and artistic choices have to be made: what populist, preachy or totalitarian meanings can be interpreted in a romantic ending or an overly synchronized transition? What is Swan Lake really about? And who are the swans?
